Job summary

GOAL SETTERZ BUSINESS SOLUTIONS PTE LTD seeks a Professional Engineer (Electrical) to provide consultancy and technical support for Lightning Protection Systems for a major temporary outdoor event. The role covers strategy, design, risk assessment per SS 555:2018, and documentation.

The ideal candidate has PE(Elect) with proven lightning protection design experience for large-scale events, and will work closely with authorities, contractors, and event teams to ensure safe, compliant

Qualifications

• Must be a Professional Engineer (Electrical).
• At least one prior project delivering lightning protection design for major event infrastructure (national event, motorsport, parade, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Provide professional advice on lightning protection strategy and design.
• Conduct lightning protection risk assessments per SS 555:2018 and rolling sphere methods where applicable.
• Develop LPS designs, calculations, specs, drawings and tender docs.
• Review contractors' shop drawings, materials, methods and testing procedures.
• Conduct site inspections during construction, rehearsals and events.
• Witness testing and commissioning and certify compliance with designs and specs.
• Prepare design reports, risk assessments, and close-out documentation.
• Collaborate with Authority, Technical Director, Build Manager and contractors.

Job Description / Scope

We are seeking an experienced Professional Engineer (Electrical) [PE (Elect)] to provide professional engineering consultancy and technical support for Lightning Protection Systems (LPS) for a major temporary outdoor event.

• Design/recommend appropriate solutions including lightning protection masts, catenary wire systems, grounding, bonding and earthing arrangements.

• Conduct periodic site inspections during construction, rehearsal and event phases.

Mandatory Requirements

The candidate must be a suitably qualified Professional Engineer (Electrical).

Importantly, the tender specifically requires the PE(Elect) to have at least one previous experience providing lightning protection design for major event infrastructure, such as a national event, motorsport event (e.g. Formula 1), large-scale parade (e.g. Chingay), or another large-scale temporary event involving multiple structures/venues.
