Job summary

GOAL SETTERZ BUSINESS SOLUTIONS PTE. LTD. seeks a seasoned Professional Engineer (Electrical) to provide expert consultancy for lightning protection at a major temporary outdoor event in Singapore.

The role involves designing robust LPS, performing risk assessments, and delivering compliant documentation in line with SS 555:2018 and contractual requirements. PE(Elect) with prior event-scale LPS experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be a suitably qualified Professional Engineer (Electrical).
• At least one prior project delivering lightning protection design for major event infrastructure (national events, motorsport, large-scale parades, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Provide professional advice on lightning protection strategy and engineering solutions.
• Conduct lightning protection risk assessments per SS 555:2018 and recognised methodologies.
• Develop detailed LPS designs, calculations, specs, drawings and tender docs.
• Design/recommend lightning protection systems including masts, catenary wires, grounding and earthing.
• Review shop drawings, material submissions, and testing/commissioning procedures.
• Carry out periodic site inspections during construction, rehearsals and events.
• Witness and certify LPS works conform to designs and standards.
• Support authority submissions and design clarifications as needed.
• Provide risk management and contingency planning guidance during construction and events.
• Prepare design reports and certification documents.

Job Description / Scope

We are seeking an experienced Professional Engineer (Electrical) [PE (Elect)] to provide professional engineering consultancy and technical support for Lightning Protection Systems (LPS) for a major temporary outdoor event.

Mandatory Requirements

The candidate must be a suitably qualified Professional Engineer (Electrical).

Importantly, the tender specifically requires the PE(Elect) to have at least one previous experience providing lightning protection design for major event infrastructure, such as a national event, motorsport event (e.g. Formula 1), large-scale parade (e.g. Chingay), or another large-scale temporary event involving multiple structures/venues.
