Job summary

BD at the Tuas Plant in Singapore is seeking a skilled technician to support machine operations, parameter checks, sampling inspections, and changeovers. The role includes minor troubleshooting and preventive maintenance to keep lines running smoothly.

You will join a global medical technology leader, contributing to safety, quality and ISO14001 initiatives while participating in daily shift meetings and Kaizen activities for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Check and record machine/process parameters and take corrective actions to keep under control
• Perform sampling inspection of parts to ensure compliance with quality plans
• Handle disposition of non-conforming products as per quality plan
• Perform minor troubleshooting to ensure continuous machine operation
• Maintain housekeeping and clean work area for a neat environment
• Update PMS satellite with correct component lot numbers, shift output, waste and downtime
• Perform product/machine changeovers including material/tool changes and data entry
• Participate in daily shift changeover meetings to review performance
• Perform preventive maintenance such as lubrication and cleaning of machine components
• Join monthly team meetings to discuss stoppages, quality, and output
• Participate in projects like data collection on stoppages and quality
• Assist Technical Specialist in major preventive maintenance tasks
• Assist in major enhancement projects like installing modified machine parts
• Contribute toKaizen submissions, team building and safety initiatives
• Perform shift coordinating tasks including resource allocation and training
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
• Contribute to ISO14001 environmental accountability and safety initiatives
• Perform any other assigned tasks as required

Job Description

1. 1) Check and record the machine or process parameters and take corrective actions if necessary to ensure that machine or process is under control.
2. 2) Perform sampling inspection of parts as per the quality plan to ensure that the products are within specification.
3. 3) Handle the disposition of non-conforming products as and when required by the quality plan.
4. 4) Perform minor troubleshooting to ensure continuous running of machine.
5. 5) Perform housekeeping and cleaning of machine and work area to ensure neat and tidy working environment.
6. 6) Update the machine PMS satellite of the correct component lot numbers, accurate shift output, waste and downtime.
7. 7) Perform product/machine changeover on the line by clearing the previous lot parts, change of materials, tool/die change and minor machine set-up and keying in the necessary information into the machine PMS satellite.
8. 8) Participate in the discussion and review of team's performance in the daily shift changeover meeting.
9. 9) Perform preventive maintenance of machine e.g. lubrication of bearings, gears, cleaning of ink pumps, dies, etc.
10. 10) Participate in the monthly team meetings which include discussions and review of performance e.g. stoppages, quality, output, etc.
11. 11) Participate in projects undertaken by the team e.g. data collection on stoppages, quality, etc.
12. 12) Assist Technical Specialist in major preventive maintenance tasks e.g. change of meters.
13. 13) Assist Technical Specialist in major enhancement projects e.g. installation of modified machine parts.
14. 14) Contribute into departments activities that are needed in order to achieve goals set for the department eg. Kaizen submission, team building, safety kaizen submission 20Keys and others.
15. 15) Perform shift coordinating job such as resource allocation, manpower coverage, training new PT.
16. 16) Participate or drive continuous improvement initiative / activities.
17. 17) Safety and ISO14001 Environmental accountability: Ensure a safe, healthy and environmentally friendly workplace by observing Company rules and procedures. Active involvement in prevention, elimination of potential safety hazards and participation in activities which promotes recycling, replacement and reduction of resource materials.
18. 18)Perform any other tasks as assigned.
