Job summary

LANXESS Deutschland GmbH is seeking a production operator with strong safety awareness to join its chemical operations team in Singapore. The role focuses on strict adherence to procedures, high-quality output, and collaboration with cross-functional teams on safety and efficiency initiatives.

Ideal candidates are physically and mentally fit, have 3–5 years in the chemical industry, hold a forklift license, and can work 8-hour shifts with overtime.

Qualifications

• Physically and mentally fit for duty, ability to lift up to 25 kg.
• GCE O-Level or above; 3–5 years of chemical industry experience preferred.
• Familiarity with chemical equipment and hazardous substance handling.
• Valid forklift driving license (for vehicles under 5 tons).
• Willing to work 8-hour shifts, 5 days a week, with overtime.

Responsibilities

• Strictly adhere to production procedures, SOPs and supervisor instructions to perform tasks safely and timely.
• Support safety culture by complying with HSE guidelines, risk assessments, and audits; participate in drills and emergency roles like ERT or First Aider.
• Operate and maintain production machinery; perform preventive maintenance; monitor lubrication and filters; maintain 5S on the shop floor.
• Record operational data and checklists in SAP; manage raw material and finished goods inventories; report equipment abnormalities, quality issues or deviations.
• Collaborate on productivity and waste-reduction programs to drive shopfloor excellence.

Job Requirements

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a safety-conscious, reliable, and team-oriented production operator to join our chemical operations team. The ideal candidate possesses strong safety and quality awareness, effective basic communication skills, and the flexibility to adapt to changing production demands while supporting cross-functional team initiatives.

Key Accountabilities:

• Your primary duty is to strictly adhere to production procedures, SOPs, and supervisor instructions to execute assigned tasks safely, timely, and without deviation.
• You will play an active role in workplace safety by complying with all HSE guidelines, participating in risk assessments and HSEQ audits, mitigating hazards, and promoting a safety-first culture including participating in company drills, training, and emergency response roles like ERT or First Aider.
• Daily operations involve operating and maintaining production machinery, executing preventive maintenance routines, monitoring lubrication levels and filters, and maintaining clean shopfloor standards via 5S principles.
• You will accurately record operational data and checklists within SAP, manage raw material and finished goods inventories, and immediately report any equipment abnormalities, quality issues, or process deviations.
• Additionally, you will collaborate on productivity and waste-reduction programs to drive operational excellence across the shopfloor.

Work Experience

• Candidates must be physically and mentally fit for duty, including the ability to manually lift and carry weights up to 25 kg.
• Preference will be given to candidates with a GCE 'O' Level qualification or above, 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in the chemical industry.
• Familiarity with chemical equipment and hazardous substance handling, and a valid forklift driving license (for vehicles under 5 tons).
• Willing to perform 8-hour shift, 5 working days.
• Willing to commit overtime.
