Production Engineer (System Integration)

Job summary

VDL ETG Singapore is seeking an experienced production supervisor to oversee the man and assembly process, ensure quality and safety, and guarantee that staff receive the necessary training to operate equipment.

You will organize mini-companies for daily production activities, develop training and rotation plans, collaborate with fellow engineers to boost productivity, and report progress in regular productivity reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in engineering in the specified fields.
• At least 3 years of experience in the manufacturing assembly environment.
• Strong communication skills for mentoring and coaching production staff.
• Good knowledge of problem-solving methodologies.
• Ensure safety standards and process safety management are followed.

Responsibilities

• Supervising the man and assembly process, ensuring quality work is done safely and efficiently
• Organize and motivate the mini-companies to perform daily production activities
• Draw up training, and job rotation plans to develop manpower to be more flexible and competent and stimulate continuous productivity improvement
• Liaising with other Engineers to develop plans that improve productivity, in terms of costs and manpower required
• Monitor and improve production efficiency/output to ensure good productivity for individual mini company
• Support engineering/manufacturing teams, draw up safety protocols, report issues to the manager, and develop strategies to improve efficiency and profit
• Driving for root causes, corrective and preventive actions based on 8D methodology to resolve non-conformance issues in production
• Conduct daily supervisor and production meetings to achieve delivery reliability
• Record and report on the department's activities and production results regularly in each productivity review meeting
• Manage consumables and non-capitalized equipment spending

Job description

Purpose

Responsible for supervising the production staff and enforcing health and safety regulations at work. Ensure all production staff have adequate training to operate the equipment. The role also has to identify deficiencies to be improved in production.
