Job summary

VDL ETG Singapore is seeking a hands-on Production Controller to support daily execution of Parts Fabrication Department (PFD) orders. You will coordinate shopfloor operations, monitor production progress, and ensure timely material availability to support disciplined production execution.

Responsibilities include scheduling, shopfloor control, material coordination, and daily meetings to drive on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics or Industrial Engineering.
• 1 year of controller experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain optimized production schedules and release production orders.
• Coordinate daily shopfloor activities to ensure adherence to plans and escalate risks.
• Manage end-to-end shopfloor material readiness and schedule material transfers.
• Chair daily shopfloor meetings to review progress and actions.
• Provide daily status updates to the Production Planner for ERP-driven decisions.

Job description

Purpose:

Responsible for supporting the day-to-day execution of Parts Fabrication Department (PFD) production order activities by coordinating shopfloor operations, monitoring production progress, and ensuring timely material availability. This role serves as the primary operational liaison on the manufacturing shopfloor, enabling disciplined production execution and providing structured feedback to the Production Planner to support effective planning, scheduling, and ERP-driven decision-making.

Key Area of Responsibilities:

• Production Scheduling: Develop and maintain optimized production schedules, adjusting as needed to meet demands and deadlines. Ensure timely and accurate release of production orders, coordinating with departments to resolve discrepancies
• Production Shopfloor Control: Coordinate and monitor daily manufacturing and fabrication activities to ensure execution aligns with approved production plans, proactively identifying deviations, risks, or constraints and escalating issues as required
• Material Coordination & Control: Manage end-to-end shopfloor material readiness, including warehouse transfers, material issuance and execution of material schedules to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations
• Daily Production Meetings: Organize and chair daily shopfloor meetings to review production progress, material readiness and operational constraints, ensuring clear communication and follow-up actions
• Planning Interface Support: Provide structured daily updates on production status, material readiness, and operational risks to the Production Planner, supporting effective planning decisions and ERP-driven controls

Requirements

• Nitec/Diploma in Engineering/Supply Chain/Logistics/Industrial Engineering or other relevant discipline.
• Preferably 1 year of experience as controller in manufacturing industry or equivalent.
• Good communication & problem-solving skills
