Job summary

Bank of Singapore is seeking a Product Owner within the CRO Business Management team to drive risk management system improvements across the Lending squad. You will work closely with Credit, Market and Operational Risk to deliver strategic solutions that enhance risk governance and client experience.

The role requires a strong background in change management, digital transformation and AI-enabled solutions, with hands-on Agile and Scrum experience.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Technology, Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in change management, digital transformation, product management, project management, business transformation or related fields.
  • Experience supporting Agile delivery, digital products, AI-enabled solutions or data transformation programmes.
  • Strong understanding of change management methodologies, stakeholder engagement and organisational adoption practices.
  • Proven experience in delivering AI, Generative AI, data analytics, digital, or enterprise technology solutions from concept to production.
  • Good understanding of AI/ML, Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), AI governance, and data-driven product development.
  • Experience operating in Agile environments with hands‑on knowledge of Scrum, backlog management, prioritization frameworks, and product lifecycle management.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders across all levels.
  • Strong planning, coordination and execution capabilities with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the overall strategy focusing on value creation for business growth, customer centricity and risk and controls.
  • Own cross-functional view of core capabilities and enterprise alignment across chapters.
  • Lead delivery of risk management system improvements within the Lending squad.
  • Partner with other squads/tribes to track milestones and OKRs for transformation objectives.
  • Develop strategies and tactics to deliver desired business outcomes including backlog planning and capacity.
  • Plan feasibility analyses, scoping and release planning with prioritization and resourcing.
  • Coordinate with chapter leads to fit the right people into the right squad.
  • Provide updates to Management and Steering Committees; manage stakeholders.
  • Work with Agile coaches for adoption of Agile best practices.

The CRO Business Management department provides risk management support across the Risk Management Division in areas of (1) Risk analytics, (2) Risk Change Management and (3) Risk Governance and Control.
The Risk Change Management team focuses on on-going key projects for Risk Management, review and improvement of processes and policies through platform transformation and enhancements. The team focuses on delivering the projects and managing the process and policy changes strategically.
The Product Owner is responsible for establishing, leading and delivering risk management system improvement features under the Lending squad. The role works closely with the Credit, Market and Operational Risk teams as well as all other relevant stakeholders delivering strategic solutions to improve risk management, clients experience and bring efficiency in the Bank. It will also bring consistency and better coordination across the 3 key areas (Credit, Market and Operational Risk).
In this role, your main duties and responsibilities will involve:

  • Develop the overall strategy focusing on value creation for business growth, customer centricity and risk and controls keeping in mind:
    • Cross-functional view of the core capabilities of the broader organization to efficiently secure resources needed from chapters
    • Integrated perspective of the organization as a whole and how their team fits in with the larger enterprise
    • An enterprise mindset that can break down silos, enable collaboration across organization boundaries and empower product owners to provide day-to-day guidance on objectives, priorities and tasks
  • Adoption and engagement accountability for the Product(s) assigned/responsible for
  • Ownership of customer journey for the Product(s) assigned/responsible for within risk management (including external stakeholders)
  • Partner with other Squads/Tribes to track project milestones, as well as Objectives & Key Results (OKRs) to ensure proper governance and progress towards achieving overall transformation objectives
  • Develop the right strategies and tactics to deliver desired business outcomes
    • Plan and maintain backlog and capacity to ensure that product features in pipeline undergo proper feasibility analysis, scoping and release planning, having considered business priorities and teams capacity, including any scalability considerations, i.e. Determine what work must get done, how much to invest in certain efforts, how to prioritise opportunities
    • Connect interdependencies across products and ensure proper prioritization of book of work, including budgeting and ensuring proper resourcing (right skill and right size) to deliver at the agreed capacity
    • Working with chapter leads to find the right people to fit the right squad
  • Stakeholder management, by providing updates on key initiatives to different stakeholders – Management committee meetings, Steering Committee meetings etc.
  • Work closely with Agile coaches for adoption and alignment of Agile best practices
Requirements
