Responsibilities

• Support the Consumables Innovation Director in driving IVD and MedTech development programmes.
• Lead cross-functional product development from concept through manufacturing.
• Review product designs, engineering analyses, risk assessments, DFM, and manufacturability.
• Drive technical problem-solving, design reviews, and CAPA initiatives to improve quality and efficiency.
• Manage milestones, schedules, deliverables, and regulatory submissions.
• Oversee manufacturing readiness, process validation, and supplier qualification for new products.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers for programme execution.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers.

Our client is a multinational company in the Contract Manufacturing industry. Due to their current expansion plan, they are looking for a Product Development Manager to join their Project Development team, in hopes of developing the current high performing team. They are located in the North - easily accessible.

The Product Development Manager's responsibles are:

• Support the Consumables Innovation Director in driving IVD and MedTech development programmes, managing project execution, customer engagement, and stakeholder coordination.
• Lead cross-functional product development activities from concept through manufacturing, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and aligned with technical, quality, and business objectives.
• Review product designs, engineering analyses, risk assessments, DFM, and manufacturability to ensure successful transfer into production.
• Drive technical problem-solving, design reviews, failure investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, manufacturability, and operational efficiency.
• Manage project milestones, implementation schedules, deliverables, funding compliance, and programme reporting.
• Support regulatory compliance, design controls, technical documentation, customer audits, and regulatory submissions.
• Oversee manufacturing readiness, process validation, automation integration, supplier qualification, and production scale-up for new product introductions.
• Monitor project performance through yield improvement, process optimisation, CAPA, and quality metrics while ensuring validated change management.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, quality, manufacturing, suppliers, customers, and government agencies to ensure successful programme execution.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate team priorities to support efficient project delivery and capability development.

Requirement

• Degree in engineering field
• Min 8 years of product development experience with IVD / MedTech sector
• Min 3 years of project management capacity for regulated MedTech products
