Job summary

Volex is seeking a leader to own the Portable EV Charging Product Roadmap and drive development from concept through mass production. You will define strategy, engage OEMs, and coordinate cross-functional teams across hardware, firmware, and testing to deliver next-generation portable charging platforms.

The role requires 5+ years of EV charging industry experience, deep knowledge of EVSE standards, and strong program management skills to work with regional teams and customers in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics.
• 5+ years EV charging industry experience.
• Experience with EVSE, ICCPD, NACS, J1772, IEC 61851 and UL standards.

Reporting To

Role Purpose

Lead Volex's Portable EV Charging Product Roadmap and Product Development activities, driving the development of next-generation portable charging products including:

• Gen2 European Portable Charger
• China GB Standard Charger
• Future E-Bike Charging Platforms

The role will own product strategy, technology roadmap, OEM engagement, commercialization support, and cross-functional execution from concept through mass production.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain short-term and long-term product roadmap.
• Identify technology trends in EV charging, V2G and portable charging solutions.
• Define product requirements based on customer and market needs.
• Build business cases for regional product expansion.

Product Development

• Lead end-to-end NPI activities.
• Oversee hardware, firmware, industrial design and testing activities.
• Ensure delivery of OEM prototype samples and beta testing programs.
• Interface directly with OEMs and strategic customers.
• Gather VOC inputs and convert them into product specifications.
• Support customer demonstrations and technical presentations.

Commercial & Cross Functional Leadership

• Work with Sales and Product Management to launch new products.
• Coordinate Engineering, Quality, Operations and Supply Chain teams.
