Job summary

Volex is seeking a seasoned Product Design Engineer to join our Singapore team on-site. You will lead end-to-end development of next‑generation interconnect solutions for consumer electronics and domestic appliances.

You will design, validate, and industrialize connector and cable‑related products, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure on-time delivery to customer specifications and cost targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Mechanical or Electronic Engineering.
• Experience in connector or cable design is advantageous.
• Knowledge of FMEA and DOE is required.
• 5+ years product development experience in engineering/high-tech industries.

Responsibilities

• Lead design activities from concept to production release.
• Conduct detailed design reviews, feasibility studies, and analyses to ensure robust solutions.
• Drive design discussions with customers, gather requirements, and present updates.
• Oversee prototype builds, sample trials, and functional testing to validate performance.
• Troubleshoot design and manufacturing issues, identify root causes and implement actions.
• Apply FMEA and DOE to optimize reliability and manufacturability.
• Manage multiple projects ensuring alignment with specs, costs, and timelines.
• Mentor junior engineers to enhance technical capability and project execution.
• Collaborate with tooling, process, and manufacturing teams on plastics and metal components; ensure cosmetic and functional standards.
