Responsibilities
  • Source direct materials for projects and workshop operations.
  • Arrange inspections and certification renewals for statutory equipment (e.g., lifting gears, lifting equipment).
  • Experience and knowledge in sourcing, fabrication, and machining of equipment and tools.
  • Experience and knowledge in sourcing various grades of raw materials, including hull structural steel, pipes, fittings, fasteners, etc.
  • Identify, select, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure best cost, quality, and service.
  • Plan delivery schedules, expedite orders, and maintain alternate sources of supply.
  • Manage purchase order processes in line with ISO standards, including documentation and filing.
  • Support administrative tasks such as document matching, record control, and reporting.
  • Recommend improvements in purchasing practices to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and housekeeping standards (OHS requirements).
Requirements
  • Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Marine Engineering, Purchasing, or related field.
