ADDITIVE INN LIMITED LIABILITY PARTNERSHIP in Singapore seeks a proactive Systems Engineer to oversee additive manufacturing operations and the technical infrastructure. You will bridge hands-on machine work with strategic improvements, supervise a small team, and drive data-driven optimization proposals to management.
The role focuses on end-to-end 3D printing workflows, from hardware and software to post-processing, with opportunities to shape technology roadmaps and capacity planning.
We are looking for a proactive and analytical Systems Engineer to oversee our additive manufacturing operations and technical infrastructure. In this role, you will bridge hands-on machine/process execution with strategic operational improvements. You will supervise a team of technicians and engineers, dive deep into our end-to-end 3D printing workflows (hardware, slicer software, material handling, and post-processing), identify production bottlenecks or quality gaps, and present data-driven optimization proposals to higher management.
1. System & Production Process Optimization
Conduct comprehensive evaluations of our 3D printing hardware (FDM/SLA), slicing parameters, post-processing steps, and material handling workflows.
Identify production bottlenecks, machine downtime trends, print yield inefficiencies, and quality control vulnerabilities across the shop floor.
Research cutting-edge additive manufacturing technologies, high-performance materials, automation tools, and industry standards to optimize production throughput and part quality.
2. Project Leadership & Team Supervision
Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of 3D printing technicians, CAD operators, and junior engineers across daily production runs and technical projects.
Translate client requirements and engineering specs into optimized print setup plans, allocating personnel capacity, setting lead-time milestones, and maintaining strict quality standards.
Drive troubleshooting protocols for print failures, machine calibration issues, or material defects, while providing ongoing technical guidance to the team.
3. Strategic Advisory & Management Reporting
Formulate well-documented improvement proposals, cost-benefit analyses, and ROI projections for equipment upgrades, new machinery acquisition, or workflow automation.
Present actionable recommendations, equipment maintenance insights, and project status reports clearly to higher management.
Collaborate with management on long-term technology roadmaps, capacity planning, and operational risk management.
4. Technical Implementation & Quality Assurance
Oversee preventive maintenance programs, machine calibrations, firmware/software integrations, and custom hardware modifications.
Standardize Operating Procedures (SOPs) for print prep, slice setup, post-processing (surface finishing, heat treatment, curing), and quality inspection.
Education: Diploma/ degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
Experience:
3+ years of hands-on experience in 3D printing/additive manufacturing operations, CAD/CAM systems, or industrial production environments.
Demonstrated experience in supervising project teams or leading shop-floor technicians.
Technical Skills:
In-depth understanding of 3D printing technologies (FDM, SLA, SLS, or Metal), engineering filaments/resins/powders, and post-processing techniques.
Proficiency in slicing software (e.g., Bambu Studio, Cura, PrusaSlicer, Simplify3D) and CAD tools (e.g., Onshape, SolidWorks, Fusion 360).
Root-cause failure analysis, and quality management knowledge.
Soft Skills:
Strong leadership, delegation, and team mentoring capabilities.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to summarize complex technical metrics into clear business proposals for management.
