This is an exciting opportunity to champion plant safety integrity, lead process hazard evaluations, and ensure strict compliance with process safety management (PSM) and Major Hazard Installation (MHI) Safety Case regulatory frameworks.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing process safety management systems, identifying chemical and operational process hazards, and implementing risk-reduction measures across operating plant units and capital projects. Your main day-to-day responsibilities will include facilitating and participating in Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), including HAZOP, LOPA, What-If, and SIL classification/verification studies.
You will maintain and update the site Safety Case in alignment with Ministry of Manpower (MOM) MHI regulations, perform consequence modeling and risk assessments, and evaluate Management of Change (MOC) reviews for process safety impacts.
Additionally, you will lead or support process safety incident investigations using structured root cause analysis (RCA), track leading and lagging process safety indicators, conduct technical safety audits, and partner closely with Production, Engineering, and HSE teams to uphold a robust plant safety culture.
We are seeking candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Safety, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline, alongside at least 3 to 6 years of dedicated process safety experience within a chemical, petrochemical, refinery, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
Practical exposure to Major Hazard Installation (MHI) regulations and a strong foundation in OSHA PSM elements and risk assessment methodologies are required. Familiarity with process hazard modeling software (such as PHAST or BowTieXP) is an added advantage.
You should possess strong analytical and diagnostic capabilities, excellent cross-functional facilitation and communication skills, and the confidence to drive safety standards across site operations.
