Job summary

BEWGI-H2O PTE. LTD. is seeking a process-focused engineer to optimize water treatment operations in Singapore.

You will analyze processes to improve efficiency, monitor water quality, and interpret data to guide improvements across treatment stages and chemical usage. You will select and implement suitable treatment technologies, procure necessary chemicals, assess risks, troubleshoot plant issues, and contribute to R&D and environmental stewardship.

Qualifications

• At least bachelors degree in chemical engineering, environmental engineering, or a related field.
• Preferably with 2-3 years related experiences.
• Diploma holders with 5-6 yrs experiences will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Process Optimization: Analyse existing processes to identify areas for improvement, including efficiency, energy use, chemical usage, and overall performance.
• Water Quality Analysis: Monitor and analyse water quality parameters to ensure regulatory compliance and troubleshoot issues.
• Data Analysis: Analyse data from water treatment processes to identify trends and improvements.
• Treatment Process Selection: Select appropriate processes and technologies (coagulation, filtration, disinfection, ion exchange, membranes).
• Chemicals Selection and Procurement: Select, specify, and procure chemicals needed for water treatment.
• Risk Assessment and Management: Identify risks to water quality and develop mitigation strategies.
• Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve operational issues and plan maintenance schedules.
• Research and Development: Stay updated on water treatment tech and participate in relevant projects.
• Environmental Impact Assessment: Evaluate environmental impact and minimize negative effects.
• Training and Education: Provide training to plant operators and personnel.
• Customer/Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with regulatory bodies, customers, and internal teams to align goals and ensure satisfaction.

Job description

1. Process Optimization: Analyse existing processes to identify areas for improvement, whether it's enhancing efficiency, reducing energy consumption, optimizing chemical usage, or improving overall performance.




2. Water Quality Analysis: Monitoring and analysing water quality parameters to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and to troubleshoot any issues that arise.




3. Data Analysis: Analysing data collected from water treatment processes to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.




4. Treatment Process Selection: Selecting the most appropriate treatment processes and technologies based on the characteristics of the source water and the desired quality of the treated water. This might include processes like coagulation, filtration, disinfection, ion exchange, and membrane processes.




5. Chemicals Selection and Procurement: Selecting, specifying, and procuring chemicals needed for water treatment plants.




6. Risk Assessment and Management: Identifying potential risks to water quality and developing strategies to mitigate them, such as implementing backup systems or emergency response plans.




7. Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Diagnosing and resolving operational issues in water treatment plants, and developing maintenance schedules to ensure the reliability and longevity of equipment.




8. Research and Development: Keeping abreast of advancements in water treatment technologies and participating in research projects aimed at improving treatment processes or developing innovative solutions to water-related challenges.




9. Environmental Impact Assessment: Evaluating the environmental impact of water treatment processes and implementing measures to minimize negative effects on ecosystems and biodiversity.




10. Training and Education: Providing training to plant operators and other personnel on proper operation and maintenance procedures.




11. Customer/Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, customers and internal departments, to address concerns, gather feedback, and ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives while prioritizing customer satisfaction.
