Job summary

Sanwa Group, a company of Sunningdale Tech Ltd, is seeking a tooling engineer to manage tooling drawings and specifications, lead projects to ensure efficient tooling execution, and apply technical solutions to improve production yield, quality, cycle-time, and cost in a plastic injection molding environment.

You will work on CAD-driven tooling design, process mapping, and cost optimization in a fast-paced manufacturing setting across regional facilities.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in plastic injection molding
• Proficiency in tooling drawings and specifications management
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing tooling processes and standards

Responsibilities

• Manage tooling drawings, specs filing, and maintenance for accuracy.
• Lead project activities to execute tooling smoothly per plans.
• Evaluate processes and develop solutions to improve yield and cost.
• Map processes and collect data to derive actionable insights for improvement.
• Use CAD to design/modify tooling components meeting project needs.

Responsibilities

• Manage tooling drawings, specifications filing, and maintenance to ensure accuracy and accessibility
• Lead project management activities to execute tooling smoothly and efficiently according to agreed plans
• Perform technical evaluations and develop solutions to resolve production issues and enhance yield, quality, process cycle-time, and cost efficiency
• Conduct process mapping and collect production data to analyze and infer actionable insights for continuous improvement
• Utilize CAD software to design and modify tooling components aligned with project requirements and quality standards

Required competencies and certifications

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in plastic injection molding environment

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements
• Proficiency in project management principles and practices
• Strong interest in pursuing technical solutions and breakthroughs
