Job summary

Qualifications

• Diploma in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with up to 5 years of relevant experience or a Bachelors’ degree (recent graduate).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; capable of working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Hands-on, motivated candidate willing to perform lab-scale work and handle equipment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate laboratory facilities to produce catalyst from grams to kilograms scale.
• Develop catalyst formulations and test them to produce CNTs at grams to kilograms scale.
• Develop separation processes for CNT purification while ensuring high product quality.
• Manage laboratory equipment and chemical processing systems and components where applicable.
• Participate in relevant safety studies and ensure compliance with OHSMS/regulations.

Job description

Micromil Carbontech Pte Ltd, (Estd.2014) will hire a Process Engineer for our proprietary process. The person will play a key role in providing process development and scale-up capabilities to the laboratory and pilot plant in a start-up environment. The initial period of employment is for 2 years and thereis possibility for renewal. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on person who has no qualms about getting their hands dirty. There is ample opportunity for growth that is pegged to the success of the project.

Job Description and Responsibilities

1. 1.Design, build and operate laboratory facilities to produce catalyst in grams to kilograms scale.
2. 2.Development of new catalyst formulations and testing of the same to produce CNTs in grams to kilograms scale.
3. 3.Developmentofthe separation processes for CNT purification while ensuring high product quality.
4. 4.Responsible for laboratory equipment and the chemical processing systems, associated equipment,and components where applicable.
5. 5.Participate in relevant safety studies.
6. 6.Ensure compliance to OHSMS/relevant regulations and follow industrial best practices.
7. 7.Analyse and summarise experimental data, communicate and present results and prepare regular summaries and progress report to management and partners.
8. 8.Be able to lift weights of up to 25kg as fixing and dismantling laboratory scale reactors and equipment is required.
9. 9.Any other work as assigned by the line manager.

Required Qualifications

• Professionals with a background in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
• Diploma (with up to 5 years of relevant experience) OR Bachelors’ Degree (recent graduate).
• Good communication skills and able to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Highly motivated and can work independently.
• Willing to work at JTC Chemicals Hub @ Tuas South (we DO NOT provide transportation).
