Job summary

GMP Technologies on Jurong Island is seeking a Process Development Engineer to drive continuous improvement of chemical processes across production units. You will benchmark KPIs, recommend cost optimisations and initiate studies or field trials to solve technical problems.

You will implement new processes in projects, coordinate with multiple disciplines, and ensure safety, environmental, and site standards are upheld throughout planning, construction and start-up phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Chemical Engineering or relevant.
• Min. 3-5 years of experience in similar job function in a Chemical plant.
• Experience in Process Engineering is preferrable.
• Advanced process and analytic skills to understand complex chemical processes.
• Know-how of chemical unit operations (reaction, filtration, drying).
• Hands-on attitude to support operations in troubleshooting, trials, field staff and lab.
• Strong communication to share know-how within site and with other sites.
• Curiosity for digital tools and process controls concepts.
• Basic experience in project management and coordinating work.

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop and implement process improvements at one or more production units.
• Benchmark existing processes based on KPIs and recommend cost optimisations.
• Initiate studies, projects or task forces to solve technical problems or plant upsets.
• Plan and implement field tests or plant trials.
• Exchange know-how with other departments and worldwide sister plants.
• Implement technical improvements or new processes in projects per site requirements.
• Take over or support Project Responsible role across planning, construction and start-up.
• Consider environmental, safety and occupational health in all improvements.
