Job summary

Macdonald & Company in Singapore seeks an Associate for its private markets team. You will evaluate and manage private credit and structured investment opportunities across Asia Pacific, with exposure to real estate, infrastructure and other real asset sectors.

The role covers underwriting, financial modelling, due diligence and portfolio monitoring across direct and indirect investments. Working within a lean, internationally oriented team, you will participate through the investment lifecycle

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting or related discipline.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in private credit, structured finance, real asset investments or related investment environment.
• Strong financial modelling and quantitative analysis skills.
• Experience conducting transaction due diligence and assessing investment or credit opportunities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint; able to prepare investment recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate private credit, structured finance and real asset investment opportunities across Asia Pacific.
• Undertake detailed financial and credit analysis of prospective investments.
• Build financial models incorporating historical performance, forecasts and debt service capabilities.
• Assess transaction structures, risks and mitigants.
• Prepare investment views and recommendations.
• Participate in due diligence across direct investments and co-investments.
• Review information and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Prepare investment and credit papers for approvals.
• Monitor existing investments against plans and covenants.
• Identify portfolio risks and report on performance.
• Contribute to improvements in tools, reporting, and workflows.
