Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, SE, IS or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering with architecture and delivery of complex platforms.
• Strong hands-on in .NET and modern web app/service development.
• Experience designing secure, scalable SaaS platforms, APIs, integrations, and data-intensive solutions.
• Proficient in modern architectures (microservices, event-driven, modular).
• Deep cloud-native tech, containers, Kubernetes, serverless, and infra automation.
• Knowledge of SDLC, automated testing, CI/CD, DevSecOps, observability, and prod ops.
• Ability to translate complex requirements into delivery roadmaps and solutions.
• Experience in agile, distributed teams with excellent stakeholder management.
• Interest or experience in climate tech, carbon markets, dMRV/MRV, geospatial data, and AI/ML.

Responsibilities

• Translate NbS, carbon market, regulatory, and assurance requirements into scalable digital MRV solutions.
• Lead architecture and delivery of end-to-end dMRV workflows with transparency and auditability.
• Design reusable components and data models for evolving standards and registry integrations.
• Define and drive technical architecture, roadmap, and platform strategy for NbS dMRV within TÜV SÜD ecosystems.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership across .NET, APIs, data pipelines, integrations, and cloud apps.

The Principal Software Engineer - Digital MRV Platform Engineering leads the architecture, development, and integration of digital Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (dMRV) solutions for Nature-based Solutions (NbS). Partnering with cross-functional stakeholders, the role translates climate and carbon verification requirements into scalable digital products aligned with TÜV SÜD's climate assurance platforms. As a principal-level technical leader, the role drives software engineering excellence, platform strategy, and long-term technology roadmap development.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate NbS, carbon market, regulatory, and assurance requirements into scalable digital MRV product and software solutions.
• Lead the architecture and delivery of end-to-end dMRV workflows, ensuring transparency, traceability, auditability, and verification integrity.
• Design reusable technology components and data models that support evolving carbon standards, methodologies, and registry integrations.
• Define and drive the technical architecture, roadmap, and platform strategy for NbS dMRV capabilities within TÜV SÜD ecosystems.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership across .NET development, APIs, data pipelines, integrations, and cloud-based applications.
• Establish engineering standards, architecture governance, and best practices while managing technical debt and platform sustainability.
• Develop and integrate climate data solutions leveraging geospatial, Earth Observation, remote sensing, IoT, and external data sources.
• Evaluate and apply emerging technologies, including AI/ML and advanced analytics, to enhance automation, data quality, and verification efficiency.
• Lead prototyping and innovation initiatives, transitioning successful concepts into secure, scalable, production-ready solutions.
• Mentor and develop engineering capabilities through technical coaching, design reviews, knowledge sharing, and recruitment support.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to deliver prioritized roadmaps, manage risks, and drive operational excellence.
• Embed security, privacy, data governance, compliance, and responsible AI practices throughout solution design, delivery, and operations.

Key Requirement

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 10 years of software engineering experience, including architecture and delivery of complex platforms or distributed systems.
• Strong hands-on expertise in .NET and modern web application/service development.
• Proven experience designing secure, scalable, reliable, and maintainable SaaS platforms, APIs, integrations, and data-intensive solutions.
• Solid understanding of modern architecture patterns, including microservices, event-driven, asynchronous, and modular architectures.
• Deep experience with cloud-native technologies, containers, Kubernetes, serverless services, and infrastructure automation.
• Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices, including SDLC, automated testing, CI/CD, DevSecOps, observability, and production operations.
• Ability to translate complex business and domain requirements into effective technical solutions and delivery roadmaps.
• Experience working in agile, cross-functional, and globally distributed teams, with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience or strong interest in climate technology, carbon markets, dMRV/MRV, geospatial or Earth Observation data, AI/ML applications, and regulated or assurance-driven environments.
