Job summary

AIBEL PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking an experienced Lead Process Engineer to drive process design across upstream oil and gas projects.

You will oversee technical integrity, guide the team, and ensure compliance with API, ISO, Norsok standards while coordinating with clients and suppliers. The role demands 15 years in multidisciplinary engineering, with at least 4 years as Lead Process Engineer, and hands-on experience with simulations and P&ID development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 15 years in multidisciplinary upstream oil & gas projects as Process Engineer.
• At least 4 years as Lead Process Engineer in projects.
• Strong experience in design deliverables (PFDs, P&IDs, SAFE charts, sizing/calcs).

Responsibilities

• Support verification activities and participate in design reviews, HAZOPs and SIL sessions.

Job description

Job responsibilities:

• Report to the Section Manager – System Engineering at basis level and to the Project Engineering Manager at project level.
• Act as the single point of contact for the Process Engineering Discipline and support the project team during Tenders or Conceptual, FEED or Detailed Engineering project phases.
• Be responsible for the provision of cost-effective Process Engineering Design solutions and for all relevant technical matters related to Process Engineering throughout the project lifecycle, in line with Statutory/Company and Client requirements
• Implement Company work processes, procedures and quality policies as required by the project.
• Be conversant with Company contractual requirements, Scope Boundaries and support the project with the Management of change on assigned areas.
• Be responsible for the management of resources and progress of the Process Engineering scope and for internal and external deliverables in line with the project budget and schedule.
• Be responsible for the technical integrity of all Process Engineering design activities and deliverables under his/ her supervision through the project lifecycle and for the compliance with relevant project performance, integrity, quality and HSE requirements.
• Review and provide technical inputs to equipment/ package related technical matters, during the development of equipment specifications, bid enquiry package, technical bid evaluations and provision of other necessary Process Engineering inputs for the purchase of equipment / packages for assigned areas.
• Coordinate and manage the Process Engineering technical interfaces with equipment and package suppliers, for assigned areas to ensure that the equipment and packages comply with the technical requirements & specifications of and to monitor the compliance to Client’s Basis of Design, Standards & Project Specifications.
• Ensure that that all risks related to his/her area or responsibility are identified, assessed and preventive measures are implemented in a timely manner when required.
• Provide support to the project on verification activities as required by the verification body / classification society or other applicable approving authorities.
• Represent the Process Engineering discipline during meetings, audits, verifications, workshops and technical reviews and be responsible for an effective and timely resolution of identified issues.
• Provide technical support related to Process Engineering at the fabrication site, whenever required.
• Continuously seek to improve working methods, tools and procedures and contribute actively to the Process Engineering Discipline development and experience transfer.
• Supporting the Section Manager, responsible for the proper division of work and responsibility and for mentoring, training, and developing direct reports in the project and provide inputs to their performance appraisal.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by his/ her supervisor.

Work experience requirements:

• The job holder must have a minimum of 15 years of experience having worked in a multidisciplinary engineering setup for upstream oil & gas projects (Fixed and Floating installations) having served in the capacity of a Process Engineer, having accrued thereof a minimum experience of 4 years in the capacity of a Lead Process Engineer in projects.
• The job holder must have prior work experience with medium/ large sized brownfield and/or greenfield projects in the upstream Oil and Gas sector with similar roles and accountabilities and possess a good understanding of project phases, milestones, deliverables and internal & external interfaces.
• The job holder must have extensive design experience with development and checking of typical Process Engineering deliverables, such as but not limited to, Simulations, Process and Utility Flow Diagrams, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, SAFE Charts, Sizing and Hydraulic Calculations, Equipment and Instrument Process Datasheets etc.
• The job holder shall be well experienced in participating in and contributing to project workshops such as Design Reviews, HAZOPs & SIL reviews, ALARP Workshops etc.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or other equivalent engineering specialisation.

• Must be a self-starter who can work independently, make sound decisions, analyze problems and provide focused solutions
• Must have advanced computer literacy in MS office, Process Design, Simulation tools including HYSYS, UniSIM, Flare System Analyser, Pipenet or similar
• Must have thorough knowledge and application of Oil and Gas industry standards not limited to API, ISO, Norsok, EU Directives related to process design and engineering
