Job summary

Singapore Aero Engine Services Private Limited (SAESL) is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to perform activities in Engine Overhaul and Component Repair. You will act as Technical Authority to ensure production methods are capable and maintained to deliver conforming products, while resolving technical issues to meet SQCD requirements.

You will support integration of Manufacturing Engineering across the product lifecycle and supply chain.

Qualifications

Bachelor-level engineering degree in a relevant field (Aeronautical, Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial).
Strong knowledge of high bypass gas turbine engines.
Solid understanding of material and component repair processes (welding, machining, painting, coating).
Excellent communication, analytical, engineering and project management skills.
Strong technical problem-solving abilities (Six Sigma) with a hands-on approach.

Responsibilities

Deploy capability for new products, including establishing manufacturing capabilities and processes.
Develop real-time methods to measure process capability and share data across facility and supply chain.
Maintain Production Technical Packages and ensure manufacturing processes meet quality, cost, delivery and lead-time requirements.
Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environment standards (Zero Harm).
Understand product safety risks and implement mitigation measures per Safety Management System.
Promote a zero-defect culture and Right First Time manufacturing practices.
Oversee delivery of manufacturing processes across internal and external suppliers to achieve Right First Time production.
Define and manage repair methods to meet cost targets and productivity metrics.

Job Summary

Perform Manufacturing Engineering activities in Engine Overhaul and Component Repair production areas. Serve as the Technical Authority, ensuring production methods are initially capable and continuously maintained to deliver conforming products. Resolve technical issues and challenges to meet business and customer requirements for Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery (SQCD). Support the integration of Manufacturing Engineering activities across the product lifecycle and throughout the supply chain.

Job Responsibilities

Deploy capability (including NPI)

Responsible for ensuring production readiness for new products, including the establishment of manufacturing capabilities and processes.
Develop quantitative, real-time methods to capture process capability, ensuring the data is accessible and effectively utilized within the facility and across the supply chain.
Maintain Production Technical Packages (e.g., technical instructions, programmes, tooling) for all parts and assemblies, ensuring manufacturing processes and methods are clearly defined and meet requirements for quality, cost, delivery rate, and lead time.

Health, Safety, and Environment.

Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards, in line with the expectations of the Zero Harm programme.

Product Safety

Understand product safety risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures to meet required safety levels, in alignment with the Company’s Safety Management System.

Quality

Promote a zero-defect culture by developing and implementing manufacturing processes and methods that support a Right First Time approach.

Delivery

Ensure manufacturing processes and methods, both within the business and across suppliers, are developed and implemented to consistently achieve Right First Time production.
Manage FAIR and MSA activities, as well as source and method changes within the assigned cell or area of accountability.

Cost

Develop repair methods that meet cost targets (e.g., Time Repair Manual, productivity metrics, etc.).

Technical Authority

Define Manufacturing Engineering and process requirements and make sound technical decisions within the assigned cell or area of accountability.

Qualification / Experience

Candidates holding a Degree in Aeronautical, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering with relevant experience will be considered.
Strong knowledge of high bypass gas turbine engines.
