About SAESL A joint venture company between Rolls-Royce Plc and SIA Engineering Company. The company first started operations in 2001 and has since become a market leader for both engine overhaul and component repair services. As a result of sustained business growth, SAESL has continued to expand its facilities and develop new capabilities for both its engine overhaul and component repair businesses. The Engine Overhaul business has the capability to service all products in the Trent engine family, this includes Trent 500, Trent 700, Trent 800, Trent 900, Trent 1000 and Trent XWB; SAESL is the only Trent engine MRO that can support all product variants. The Engine Overhaul business has the capacity to repair and overhaul over 300 Trent engines per year and it is equipped with a state-of-the-art Engine Test Facility that supports our best-in-class engine turnaround times.

Job Summary
The Training Academy is a key deliverable for the year, aimed at enhancing the capability and competency of SAESL employees. The incumbent plays a critical role in delivering Trent engine build practical training, including competency assessments, and is responsible for developing training materials in compliance with SAESL policies, regulatory requirements, and Rolls-Royce engine manuals.
Job Responsibilities
Training Academy
- Develop instructional content, training and assessment materials, and delivery methodologies for the Training Academy
- Identify core skills and define required OJT touch time, ensuring alignment with engine manual technical requirements
- Advise on training tools and equipment to support effective learning delivery
- Support space planning and infrastructure readiness for the Training Academy
Training Management
- Conduct Trent engine build and strip theoretical and/or practical training
- Perform practical skills assessments as an authorised examiner
- Collaborate with operations teams to identify and assess technician training needs
- Engage with business units and functions to implement and sustain effective, efficient, and context-sensitive training frameworks and programmes
Competency Management
- Work with operations teams across Cells to identify, develop, and maintain competency-based skills and knowledge
- Lead competency assessments and ensure alignment with operational and regulatory requirements
Qualification / Experience
- Degree in Engineering or a related discipline with at least 10 years of teaching or instructional experience
- Familiar with both traditional and modern training methods (e.g. mentoring, coaching, OJT, classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Relevant training certification in aero engine or module build and strip
- Experience on Rolls-Royce Trent 900, Rolls-Royce Trent 1000, Rolls-Royce Trent 7000, or Rolls-Royce Trent XWB is an advantage
- Prior aviation industry experience is an advantage
