Job summary

Seatrium Ltd in Singapore seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support the Vice President (Engineering) and oversee the Engineering Department. You will manage engineering and technical support processes, implement QMS procedures, and monitor design production against schedules.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering with 10+ years in marine/offshore/renewables, plus relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in marine, offshore or renewable energy sectors.
• Degree / Diploma in Naval Architecture / Civil / Marine & Offshore / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering; Certificate of Competency Class 1 (Marine Engineer Officer) optional.
• Strong problem-solving, data analysis and interpretation abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Vice President (Engineering) in the management of the Engineering Department.

• Perform contract review elements, including preparation and review of engineering responsibility matrix.
• Respond to customer complaints and take corrective actions on staff/subcontractors per QMS requirements.
• Ensure SOPs comply with specifications, quality standards, statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job description

• Assist the Vice President (Engineering) in the management of the Engineering Department.
• Manage engineering and technical support processes, by implementing the engineering related procedures and work instructions in the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Monitor engineering activities to ensure efficient engineering design production as well as meeting engineering progress schedules.
• Perform relevant elements of contract review, as required, including preparation and review of engineering responsibility matrix.
• Respond to customer complaints and take corrective actions on errors of staff and subcontractors to requirements defined in the Corrective Action Procedure of the QMS.
• Ensure that all standard operating procedures comply with specifications, quality standards, statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities which may be assigned to him
