The position is for a Regional Principal Electrical Engineer providing consulting and design services for mission‑critical facilities across the C &SP, Colocation, IT, Telecoms, Financial Services sectors and other key industries.

This role is responsible for the end‑to‑end design of electrical systems for mission‑critical environments, including Data Centres and Command Centres, ensuring all technical solutions are optimized for project success, compliance with standards, and highest customer satisfaction.

The successful candidate must demonstrate engineering excellence in electrical systems for mission‑critical facilities, show leadership, and be able to conduct effective communication at senior levels with key customers and industry partners. The role requires a self‑motivated leader with strong communication and business consulting skills, a collaborative team player with proven project management expertise, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Electrical System Design
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with client project teams, external consultants and internal stakeholders to define project requirements, scope and technical objectives.
    • Solution Development: Convert project requirements into optimized engineering solutions.
    • Compliance: Ensure all proposed solutions adhere strictly to local standards, regulations, codes and safety requirements.
    • Technical Documentation: Produce engineering packages, including capacity and design calculations, technical drawings, single line diagrams, layouts and specifications.
    • Value Proposition: Develop solution presentations, value propositions and compliance matrices to demonstrate technical alignment.
    • Project Lifecycle Oversight: Design solutions that support successful project implementation and customer satisfaction.
    • On‑Site Engineering Support: Provide technical guidance during installation regarding engineering processes, tools, procedures, regulatory compliance, quality control and technical interpretation.
  • Bid Management
    • Proposal Development: Prepare technical solution proposals, detailed Bills of Quantity (BOQ) and Bills of Material (BOM).
    • Vendor Strategy and Costing: Identify and qualify third‑party vendors, establish cost estimates and align with project budgets.
    • Stakeholder Communication: Participate in customer meetings to provide updates on proposal status and address technical or logistical challenges.
    • Risk Mitigation and Reporting: Proactively identify and report roadblocks to internal stakeholders, providing consistent status reports.
    • Process Governance: Maintain strict adherence to Schneider Electric’s project methodologies, internal processes and approval procedures throughout the bid lifecycle.
  • Customer Care and Quality
    • Quality Assurance: Ensure alignment between the proposed technical solution and the project scope to deliver high‑quality outcomes.
    • Pre‑Sales Excellence: Deliver engineering services during the pre‑sales phase to drive customer satisfaction and trust.
    • Issue Resolution and Escalation: Escalate customer concerns and ensure successful resolution and closure of all issues.
    • Continuous Improvement: Identify solution or process enhancements, documenting and communicating to stakeholders.
  • Partner Management
    • Vendor Qualification and Compliance: Identify, qualify and manage third‑party partners to ensure adherence to Schneider Electric’s methodologies, safety standards and code of conduct.
    • Performance and Strategic Selection: Monitor partner performance and select service providers based on the ability to deliver high‑quality results and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Training and Development
    • Competency Building: Lead training for internal staff and external partners to ensure technical competency.
    • Continuous Professional Growth: Maintain and update personal expertise in emerging technologies, industry tools and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of engineering experience, particularly in mission‑critical applications and consulting engagements.
  • Travel requirement: International (25%)
  • Technical Skills
    • Electrical expertise: In‑depth understanding of electrical distribution system design, including transformers, HV, MV, LV switchboards, grounding, generators, etc.
    • Industry Standards: Thorough understanding of global best practices for design, installation and operation.
    • Documentation and Procurement: Proven skill in project engineering, technical documentation and vendor qualification.
    • Stakeholder Management: Confidence in engaging senior IT directors, facility managers and executive stakeholders.
    • Leadership and Mentorship: Exceptional leadership with a structured methodology for coaching the engineering and project team.
    • Effective Communication: Strong written and verbal communication to diverse audiences.
    • Customer Advocacy: Professional, customer‑centric approach when engaging with clients.
    • Operational Excellence: Superior time management and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
