Job summary

Arup is seeking an experienced Security Consultant to lead the delivery of complex electronic security projects across a range of sectors. In this role, you will work closely with clients to understand their operational and security challenges, translating requirements into innovative, integrated security solutions that deliver real-world outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering (Mechanical and/or Electrical) or related field.
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in a similar role.
• Excellent technical communications skills for bids, projects, research, training and advisory applications.
• Willingness to travel to other locations to assist colleagues/clients.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and Microsoft Office.
• Understanding of the engineering project lifecycle from concept to support.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Security Consultant to lead the delivery of complex electronic security projects across a range of sectors. In this role, you will work closely with clients to understand their operational and security challenges, translating requirements into innovative, integrated security solutions that deliver real-world outcomes. You will provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from strategy, planning and design through to implementation and operational support, while building trusted client relationships and contributing to the growth and development of the wider team.

The Opportunity

• Lead the delivery of integrated electronic security projects, including client requirements gathering, security strategy development, design, tender management, construction support and operational planning.
• Provide specialist technical expertise across security technologies, including CCTV, access control, perimeter intrusion detection, security screening and entrance control systems, ensuring integration with wider IT, networking and infrastructure environments.
• Develop and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships, identifying challenges and delivering innovative solutions that exceed expectations.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, resources and commercial performance, ensuring projects are delivered successfully and financial targets are achieved.
• Mentor and support team members through coaching, technical guidance and knowledge sharing, while promoting compliance with health, safety and legislative requirements

Is this role right for you?

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering (Mechanical and/or Electrical), or a related field
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in similar role
• Must have excellent technical communications skills, with a demonstrated ability to plan and produce clear, professional and error‑free documentation for bids, projects, research, training and advisory applications.
• Able to travel to other geographical locations to assist colleagues/clients, if necessary.
• Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD, Revit and Microsoft Office applications is expected
• Thorough understanding of the engineering project lifecycle from Concept, through Schematic and Detailed Design to Construction Administration and Support is essential.
• Verifiable track record of project delivery in Aviation Security, Critical Infrastructures, Data Centres, Transportation, Healthcare, or similar is highly preferred.
