Job summary

BLACK & WHITE ENGINEERING PTE. LTD. is seeking a Principal Civil Infrastructure Engineer to lead site infrastructure design for data centre developments in Singapore.

You will oversee civil design delivery, coordinate with electrical, mechanical, BIM and structural teams, and ensure compliance with local authority standards. The role emphasizes mentorship, innovation, and delivering high-value infrastructure on complex projects, with a focus on roads, drainage, and utilities within data centre

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Registered or eligible for registration with the Professional Engineers Board (PEB).
• Familiarity with Singapore codes and authority requirements (PUB, LTA, BCA).
• Membership with Institution of Engineers Singapore (IES) or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil and site infrastructure design for roads, drainage, and utilities.
• Prepare and review detailed calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated site design.
• Support authority submissions and approvals with PUB, LTA, BCA.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote technical excellence within the team.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES (Tasks)

At B&W Engineering, we delivermission-critical infrastructurethat underpins the digital economy. As aPrincipal Civil Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in thesite development of data centre projects, with a strong focus onroads, drainage, and utilities infrastructure.

This is an opportunity to work on complex, high-value developments—leading civil design delivery, shaping site infrastructure, and ensuring integration with building and mission-critical systems.

Technical Leadership & Design (Site Infrastructure)

• Lead the design ofcivil and site infrastructure worksincludingroads, stormwater drainage, and underground utilities
• Prepare and review detailed engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications
• Designearthworks, grading, pavements, and utility networks (water, sewer, power corridors)
• Ensure designs align withproject requirements, local authority standards, and best practices

Project Delivery

• Manage civil engineering packages fromconcept through detailed design to construction support
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (electrical, mechanical, structural, BIM) to ensure integrated site design
• Supportauthority submissions(e.g., PUB, LTA, BCA) and approvals processes
• Provide technical input duringconstruction, site inspections, and issue resolution

Stakeholder Engagement

• Liaise with clients, contractors, and government authorities on design and delivery matters
• Participate in technical meetings and provide expert guidance on civil engineering solutions
• Support project managers in delivering outcomes aligned with client expectations

Mentorship & Team Development

• Mentor junior engineers and support capability building within the civil team
• Promote technical excellence and knowledge sharing
• Contribute to a collaborative and high-performing team culture

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve design efficiency, constructability, and sustainability
• Support the adoption ofdigital engineering and BIMin civil design workflows
• Stay updated with evolving standards, design tools, and infrastructure trends

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENT

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Registered or eligible for registration with the Professional Engineers Board (PEB)
• Familiarity with Singapore codes and authority requirements (e.g., PUB, LTA, BCA)
• Membership with Institution of Engineers Singapore (IES) or equivalent preferred

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience as a Senior Civil Engineer / Civil & Structural Engineer within consultancy or infrastructure projects
• Strong experience in roads, drainage, and utilities design, particularly for building site developments or industrial/data centre sites
• Related structural engineering experience would be beneficial
• Solid understanding of Singapore authority requirements and submission processes
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary infrastructure design
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• A proactive, solutions-driven approach with attention to detail and delivery excellence
