Seashell Academy by Suntown Education Center in Singapore invites an experienced Primary Mathematics & Science Teacher to teach both subjects, focusing on upper primary PSLE preparation and conceptual understanding.

You will collaborate with our academic team to develop lesson materials, teaching frameworks, and PSLE strategies, while maintaining strong classroom management and engaging, student-centered lessons at Eastpoint Mall.

As Seashell Academy continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced and passionate Primary Mathematics & Science Teacher who can teach both subjects and contribute to the development of our academic programmes.

This is more than a classroom teaching role. We are looking for an educator who enjoys thinking about how students learn, how lessons can be improved, and how better curriculum can produce better learning outcomes.

The Role

As a Primary Mathematics & Science Teacher, you will teach both Mathematics and Science to primary school students, with a strong focus on upper primary and PSLE preparation.

You will also work closely with our academic team to develop and improve lesson materials, teaching frameworks and PSLE preparation strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach both Primary Mathematics and Science, primarily P3–P6
• Deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Singapore MOE syllabus and PSLE requirements
• Identify students' learning gaps and provide targeted academic support
• Monitor students' progress and provide constructive feedback
• Maintain strong classroom management and student engagement
• Communicate professionally with parents regarding students' learning progress when required

Mathematics

• Develop strong conceptual understanding and mathematical reasoning
• Teach effective approaches to Paper 1 and Paper 2
• Guide students through multi-step and non-routine problem sums
• Develop students' speed, accuracy and presentation
• Teach structured problem-solving heuristics and strategies
• Help students understand the reasoning behind solutions rather than simply memorising methods

Science

• Build strong conceptual understanding through inquiry and scientific reasoning
• Develop students' ability to interpret questions, experiments, diagrams and data
• Teach effective MCQ strategies
• Guide students in answering Open-Ended Questions (OEQ)
• Develop structured cause-and-effect explanations
• Train students to identify key concepts and use accurate scientific keywords
• Help students construct complete, precise and examination-ready answers

Curriculum Development

At Seashell Academy, teachers are not simply expected to deliver existing materials.

We want educators who can contribute intellectually to the curriculum.

You will have opportunities to:

• Develop worksheets, lesson materials and assessments
• Review and improve existing curriculum resources
• Analyse PSLE questions and examination trends
• Develop Mathematics problem-solving frameworks
• Develop Science OEQ answering frameworks
• Design revision and intensive programmes
• Participate in lesson planning and academic discussions
• Share teaching strategies and best practices with the academic team
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of Seashell Academy's Mathematics and Science programmes

Experience in curriculum development, worksheet design or academic research will be highly valued.

Who We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

• Strong knowledge of BOTH Singapore Primary Mathematics and Science
• Familiarity with the Singapore MOE Primary Mathematics and Science syllabuses
• Experience teaching upper primary students (P3–P6)
• Experience preparing students for PSLE Mathematics and Science
• Strong understanding of PSLE question types, answering expectations and examination techniques
• Ability to explain difficult concepts clearly and systematically
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Genuine passion for teaching and helping students improve
• Willingness to participate in curriculum development and continuous professional improvement

Strong Advantage If You Have

• Experience teaching in an established Singapore tuition centre
• Former or current MOE teaching experience
• Experience developing Mathematics or Science curriculum
• Experience designing worksheets, assessments or teaching resources
• Strong track record preparing students for PSLE
• Experience analysing student performance and developing intervention strategies
• Experience mentoring teachers or contributing to academic training
• NIE qualification or a degree/diploma in Education, Mathematics, Science or a related discipline
