Job summary

GESS Singapore is seeking a Preschool Library Assistant to support the daily operations of the Preschool Library, creating a welcoming, organized and engaging space that fosters a love of books and reading. You will assist children, teachers and families in accessing resources and ensuring materials are well maintained and readily available.

You will supervise users, help maintain the library’s appearance, and collaborate with Preschool staff to align the collection with the curriculum, while

Qualifications

• Experience working in a school or library environment an advantage.
• Flexible and willing to support a range of library activities.
• Comfortable organizing, sorting, and maintaining collections of books and educational resources.
• Ability to follow schedules and manage daily routines and tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day library operations, resources and borrowing.
• Supervise library users and help maintain the physical appearance of the library.
• Work collaboratively with Preschool teaching staff to ensure the library collection supports the Preschool curriculum.
• Prepare collections or displays of books for particular topics, celebrations, languages or areas of learning.
• Maintain a working collaboration with the main school library and support where needed.
• Contribute flexibly to wider school activities and events while maintaining high standards of safeguarding, confidentiality, health and safety, and professional practice.
• Shelve library books and materials daily.
• All other responsibilities and tasks as deemed appropriate by SMT and the Line Manager.
