Job summary

Sembcorp Industries Ltd is seeking a proficient Engineer to monitor health and performance of plant equipment in its power generation and utility plants in Singapore. The role focuses on condition monitoring, data analytics and diagnostics of electrical and control systems.

You will identify failures, optimise maintenance plans, and work with maintenance teams to develop recovery strategies, while tracking AI-enabled alerts and industry trends.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Control and Instrumentation Engineering.
• 3 years of experience in a process plant environment (utilities, oil & gas, chemicals).
• Experience in condition monitoring, electrical equipment and control systems diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Monitor health and performance of plant equipment via condition monitoring and data analytics.
• Identify developing failures and recommend preventive or corrective measures.
• Optimise maintenance strategies and plans to minimise unplanned downtime.
• Collaborate with maintenance engineers and technicians to develop recovery plans.
• Develop and own condition monitoring programmes and analytics for visibility.
• Monitor and evaluate industry trends in condition monitoring technologies.
• Work with stakeholders on AI analytics for early warning signs of failure.
• Respond to AI alerts, verify and escalate as needed.
• Support Root Cause Analysis or failure investigations through data analytics.
• Identify recurring failure modes and propose improvements.
• Support maintenance planners with cross-plant synergies.
• Focus on Electrical and Instrumentation & Control systems in power plants.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Monitor health and performance of plant equipment through condition monitoring technologies, data analytics and reliability engineering techniques
• Identify developing failures and recommend preventive or corrective measures
• From collected data or past history, optimise maintenance strategies and maintenance plans to improve equipment reliability and minimise unplanned downtime
• Work closely with maintenance engineers and technicians to develop equipment recovery plans based on condition monitoring findings
• Develop and own condition monitoring programmes for the plants, including developing the trends and analytics needed for visibility of equipment health
• Monitor and evaluate industry trends in condition monitoring technologies
• Work with relevant stakeholders on the development of AI analytics for spotting early warning signs of failure
• React to alerts from AI analytics, verify the alert and escalated as needed
• Support Root Cause Analysis or failure investigations through condition monitoring and data analytics
• Identify recurring failure modes and recommend improvements to eliminate or reduce repeat failures
• Support the maintenance planners in the identification and execution of cross-plant synergies
• This role will be primarily responsible for the Electrical and Instrumentations & Control systems in power generation and utility plants

• 3 Years of experience in a process plant environment (Utilities, Oil & Gas, Chemicals)
• Experienced in condition monitoring, electrical equipment and control systems diagnostics
