Job summary

3M Singapore seeks an experienced CNC machinist to set up, operate, and optimize 5-axis milling and CNC lathe processes to produce high-precision components per specification.

You will read and translate G and M codes, propose program edits, select tooling, speeds and feeds, and troubleshoot 5-axis milling and lathe performance, ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret G and M code
• Experience with 4-5 axis milling and CNC lathes
• Familiar with reading drawings and shop documentation
• Willingness to rotate shifts

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines, including 4-5 axis mills and lathes
• Read, translate, and verbalize G and M code; propose edits to correct programs
• Run new parts during early-stage trials; recommend sequencing changes
• Edit programs to achieve correct radii, contours and angles; set feeds/speeds/tooling
• Write simple programs for fixtures and tooling (a plus)
• Troubleshoot 5-axis milling and CNC lathe performance
• Verify tooling, jigs, fixtures, gauges and hand tools; ensure sharpness and alignment
• Work to close tolerances and finish quality; perform first-article builds per specs
• Perform compliant troubleshooting of tools and equipment; adhere to schedules
