Job summary

MEIDEN SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support installation, testing, commissioning and service of power transformers at project sites in Singapore.

You will coordinate with customers and teams, review drawings and procedures, and perform or coordinate testing and pre-commissioning checks to ensure readiness and compliance. Strong troubleshooting and communication skills are essential for site-based work.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Relevant experience in electrical installation, testing, commissioning or servicing of power transformers or high-voltage electrical equipment.
• Good knowledge of power transformers, electrical systems and testing principles.
• Familiarity with transformer installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical specifications.
• Familiarity with electrical testing instruments and equipment used for transformer testing.
• Good troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Good communication and coordination skills when working with customers, contractors, vendors and site teams.
• Able to work independently and perform site-based engineering activities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with customers, contractors, vendors and site teams on transformer installation, testing and commissioning activities.
• Supervise and support transformer installation, assembly and site preparation works.
• Perform and/or coordinate electrical testing and commissioning of power transformers and associated equipment.
• Review electrical drawings, schematics, test procedures and technical specifications.
• Conduct pre-commissioning checks and verify equipment readiness prior to energisation.
• Analyse test results, identify abnormalities and support troubleshooting and corrective actions.
• Coordinate testing activities to ensure compliance with project, quality and safety requirements.
• Support site acceptance testing, commissioning and final handover to customers.
• Prepare testing records, commissioning reports, service reports and technical documentation.
• Provide technical support for transformer servicing, inspection and site-related issues where required.
