Job summary

DSO National Laboratories, Singapore's leading defence R&D organisation, invites a Power Electronics Engineer to join the Engineering Division. You will define power architectures, design energy storage and power conversion systems, and collaborate with mechanical and thermal engineers to package and test sub‑systems.

Qualifications

• Degree/Master/PhD in Electrical Engineering /Electrical & Electronic Engineering /Electrical Power Engineering/ Power & Control/Power Electronics & Industrial Appl/Power Engineering
• Experience in PCB designs of analog / power circuits with good understanding of designs for electromagnetic compatibility
• Experience in at least one of the following: simulation tools e.g. LTSpice, PSIM, ANSYS, or similar
• Team player
• Passionate about advancing power technologies and engineering innovation through perseverance and research

Responsibilities

• Work with project teams to derive power requirements, budget and architecture.
• Undertake research and feasibility studies to identify solutions to unique problems.
• Derive requirements and specifications for power solutions/systems e.g. energy storage, electric machines, power converters (DC-DC, DC-AC, AC-DC), PGMS (power generation and management system).
• Design and implementation of power solutions/systems, as above.
• Work with mechanical, thermal and manufacturing engineers in packaging solutions.
• Design test plan and execution of tests on power systems and power converters.
• Document design and test results.
