Job summary

The National University of Singapore invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow/Research Fellow to develop electrochemical sensing technologies for early disease detection. The role sits at the interface of micro/nanofabrication, point-of-care development, and biomedical diagnostics, focusing on cardiac-related biomarkers.

The successful candidate will contribute to integrated sensing platforms and collaborate with clinicians and engineers to advance translational biosensing solutions.

Qualifications

• PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or related discipline.
• Hands-on experience with electrochemical biosensors and surface functionalization in complex matrices.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis tools.
• Experience with multiplex assay development and cross-reactivity management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent and collaborative research in electrochemical biosensing.
• Perform micro/nanofabrication and surface modification for high-sensitivity sensors.
• Design and optimize sensor platforms for cardiovascular biomarkers and related diseases.
• Develop assays in plasma focusing on fouling, interference, and stability.
• Plan experiments and analyze data using appropriate software.
• Collaborate with clinicians to integrate sensors with microfluidics or wearables.
• Prepare publications and conference materials.
• Keep up with advances in electrochemical sensing and biomedical engineering.
