The National University of Singapore's Biomedical Engineering Department invites postdoctoral fellows to advance research in flexible electronics, bioelectronics, neurotechnology, and brain‑machine interfaces.
Join a multidisciplinary team to design experiments, push nano/micro‑fabrication, and develop neural interfaces for chronic, high‑bandwidth neural communication at single‑cell precision. Applicants should have a PhD in a related field and strong English communication.
The laboratory of Assistant Professor (Presidential Young Professorship) Liu Yuxin in the Biomedical Engineering Department at National University of Singapore seeks postdoctoral fellows with strong enthusiasm and interest in flexible electronics, bioelectronics, neurotechnology, and brain‑machine‑interface research.
Biological systems are typically soft and highly dynamic, while conventional implantable electronics are rigid and unable to adapt to the complex biological microenvironment. This leads to a functional and biomechanical gap at the bio‑electronic interface. Through electronic material development and nano/micro‑fabrication innovation, we aim to create next‑generation electronic materials and microelectronics that mimic the properties of biological tissue, autonomously respond to cellular growth, and provide chronic, high‑bandwidth neural‑machine communication at single‑cell precision.
Working with a multidisciplinary team of seasoned clinicians and biologists, we will also develop precision electronic medicine capable of treating chronic diseases via targeted, personalized neuromodulation.
To apply, please send a cover letter, CV and the names of three references (name, institution, email) to Prof. Yuxin Liu (lyx@nus.edu.sg). Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
