Job summary

Starline, a company of Legrant, seeks anAssembler to join the Data, Power, Control Team in Singapore. You will read shop drawings, BOMs, and assemble electromechanical units for electrical distribution systems.

You will use hand and power tools, measure parts for tolerances, and ensure compliance with SECRIT values. The role emphasises teamwork, safety, and quality in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

  • Level/A Level/ITE or High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read shop drawings and wiring diagrams preferred.

Job Description

Starline – a company of Legrant has an exciting opportunity for an Assembler to join the Data, Power, Control Team in Singapore. The Assemblers manufactures and assembles a variety of configurations of mechanical and basic electrical assemblies used in electrical distribution systems.

Responsibilities
What Will You Do?
Essential Functions
  • Read shop drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Read Bills of Materials (BOMs) to determine component parts and assembly sequences of electromechanical units
  • Make electrical connections according to specifications
  • Assemble parts, and position, align, and fasten assemblies, subassemblies, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Modify parts by drilling, tapping, countersinking, etc. machine tools, power and pneumatic hand tools.
  • Position, align, and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly.
  • Measure parts to determine tolerances, using tape measures and precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Attach labels and mark identifying information on parts.
  • Adhere to all company policies, guidelines and practices including the SECRIT values.
Additional Duties
  • Cross training to work in other functional department of the plant
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Tool selection — determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • Oral Comprehension – The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • Ability to operate cordless hand tools, power tools and pneumatic tools.
  • Ability to read shop drawings and wiring diagrams preferred.
  • Ability to read standard tape measure.
  • Ability to work in a cohesive team environment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Level/A Level/ ITE or High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One year of experience in manufacturing preferred
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
  • Lifting: Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs occasionally; ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs often.
  • Finger Dexterity: The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
  • Manual Dexterity: The ability to quickly move hand, hand together with arm, or two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
  • Arm-Hand Steadiness: The ability to keep hand and arm steady while moving arm or while holding arm and hand in one position.
  • Vision: The ability to see details at a close range and have the ability to tell the difference in the colors of wires.
