Role Description

The PLC Programmer is a full-time, on-site role based in Singapore. This role involves designing, programming, testing, and commissioning PLC-based control systems for automation projects, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and quality standards. The PLC Programmer will collaborate closely with design, mechanical, and electrical engineering teams to interpret control requirements, develop logic, and integrate hardware and software components. Daily tasks include troubleshooting and debugging PLC programs, preparing technical documentation, supporting factory and site acceptance tests, and providing technical support during installation and after deployment. The role also includes optimizing existing programs to improve cycle time, reliability, and maintainability in line with customer and project requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong PLC programming skills (e.g., ladder logic, function block, structured text) and experience with major PLC platforms (such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Omron, or Mitsubishi).
• Knowledge of industrial automation systems, including motion control, sensors, actuators, SCADA/HMI, and fieldbus/industrial communication protocols.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control panel drawings, and engineering documentation, working closely with electrical and mechanical teams.
• Experience in system testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis for automated equipment or production lines.
• Familiarity with safety standards and good practices in industrial control systems, including machine safety and risk assessment.
• Relevant technical qualification, such as a diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and in cross-functional project teams.
• Effective communication skills in English and the ability to document programs, test procedures, and system configurations clearly.
• Prior experience in high-automation manufacturing environments or custom automation projects is an advantage.
