PhysicsX Ltd. is seeking a Platform Support Engineer to be the first technical responder for enterprise customers and internal users. The role combines triage, investigation, updates, and escalation to Product, SRE, and Deployment Engineering.

This hybrid position is based in New York City with 3 days in the office. You will triage issues, perform first-pass investigations across product, platform, and customer environments, and hand over with a root-cause diagnosis when escalating.

Qualificações

• Clear communication with non-technical stakeholders during live incidents.
• Sound triage and escalation judgement: distinguishing defects from deployment/config issues and customer-side dependencies.
• Working Kubernetes familiarity: investigating pods that won’t start or keep restarting, and knowing when to hand over.
• A GitOps mindset: Git as source of truth, PR-based change, environment promotion (Argo CD experience helps, but the mindset matters more than the tool).
• Strong Linux and troubleshooting fundamentals.
• Cloud fundamentals (networking, compute, storage, IAM) and comfort reading logs, metrics and alerts.

Responsabilidades

• Triage incoming issues, classify severity, and run the first-pass investigation across product, platform, infrastructure and customer environment to identify root causes.
• Resolve what you can; when you can’t, escalate with logs, events, config, timeline and recommended next steps.
• Operate within a structured incident process: response targets, clean handovers, and post-mortems.
• Debug inside the platform: navigate Kubernetes (EKS, AKS and others) and inspect workloads, ingress and cluster health.
• Use GitOps practices to implement fixes via pull requests and clearly call out drift when observed.
• Time-box investigations and escalate promptly when progress stalls.
