Job summary

nSearch Global is seeking a Platform Operations Engineer to oversee day-to-day infra across on-premises and hybrid environments. You will provide technical oversight for compute, storage, OS, backup, DR, and HA, and lead incident management with RCAs and recovery planning.

Qualifications

• Degree with minimum 5 years in infrastructure or platform operations.
• Experience supporting production or mission-critical environments.
• Strong understanding of infra operations across virtualization, OS, storage, backup, networking.
• Experience in VMware/Hyper-V/Nutanix; Red Hat Linux and/or Windows Server; Enterprise storage, backup, HA, DR.
• Experience in monitoring, observability, logging and alerting; AWS or Azure knowledge.
• Nice to have Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform; scripting in Python/PowerShell/Bash; Docker or Kubernetes; IaC.

• Lead incident management, RCA, recovery planning, and timely resolution.
• Manage and coordinate vendor activities, tasks, incidents, service requests, and deliverables.
• Review changes, SRs, implementation plans, and recovery approaches; support governance, change review, compliance, and readiness.
• Support infrastructure modernisation and technology refresh programmes while maintaining stable operations.
• Plan, coordinate, and track infrastructure refresh, upgrade, migration, and technical projects.

Platform Operations Engineer

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operational support and maintenance of critical infrastructure platforms across on-premises and hybrid environments
• Provide technical oversight across compute, storage, virtualisation, operating systems, backup, disaster recovery (DR), and high availability
• Lead incident management, root cause analysis, recovery planning, and timely resolution
• Manage and coordinate vendor activities, operational tasks, incidents, service requests, and technical deliverables
• Review technical changes, service requests (SRs), implementation plans, and recovery approaches; Support technical and security governance, change review, compliance, and operational readiness
• Support infrastructure modernisation and technology refresh programmes while maintaining stable operations
• Plan, coordinate, and track infrastructure refresh, upgrade, migration, and technical project initiatives

Requirements

• Degree with minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure or platform operations
• Experience supporting production or mission-critical environments
• Strong understanding of infrastructure operations across virtualisation, operating systems, storage, backup, networking, and related platforms
• Experience in VMware, Hyper-V, or Nutanix. Red Hat Linux and/or Windows Server. Enterprise storage, backup, HA, and DR solutions
• Experience in monitoring, observability, logging, and alerting. Networking fundamentals, AWS or Azure
• Good to have experience in Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform. Scripting: Python, PowerShell, Bash. Docker or Kubernetes. Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
