Job summary

You will work closely with researchers and engineers to design, develop and optimize infrastructure, data pipelines and computation-heavy applications.

The role focuses on ownership, collaboration and delivering production-ready code in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on software engineering experience in Python and/or C++.
• Experience designing, building or maintaining large-scale platforms, distributed systems or high-performance applications.
• Strong understanding of software fundamentals, system design and performance optimisation.
• Experience in Big Tech or engineering-intensive environments is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills with fluency in English.
• Collaborative, proactive and adaptable, with an interest in startup environments.
• Comfortable taking ownership and solving complex technical problems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable research infrastructure and data services.
• Build robust data ingestion, processing and normalisation pipelines.
• Collaborate with researchers to move models from prototype to production, optimizing performance-critical code with Python, C++ and CUDA where appropriate.
• Develop internal engineering tools and automation solutions, leveraging AI-assisted coding tools.
• Write clean, well-tested and maintainable code, contributing to reviews and best practices.
• Take ownership of technical challenges and contribute to architectural and engineering decisions.
