Job summary

Gulf Engineering & Construction PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Piping Designer to support Capex projects and plant modifications in the refinery/petrochemical sector.

Responsibilities include site checks, piping layout design, and maintaining engineering documentation. The ideal candidate has a Diploma/ Degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 10 years of piping design experience, with strong AutoCAD skills and knowledge of ASME/API/ASTM standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years piping design experience in refinery or petrochemical industry.
• Proficient in AutoCAD for piping drawings and documentation.
• Good knowledge of ASME, API, and ASTM standards relevant to piping design.
• AWSHPP certification mandatory for safe & compliant work in process plants.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site checks and surveys to determine piping routing and modifications.
• Design detailed piping layouts for Capex and minor modifications meeting engineering requirements.
• Prepare piping layouts, isometric drawings, BOM, and support details using AutoCAD.
• Create and update P&IDs, Plot Plans, and as-built drawings to reflect site conditions.
• Assist in maintaining EDMS and project documentation for accuracy and access.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance and Construction teams for smooth project delivery.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Piping Designer to support Capex projects and plant modifications in the refinery/petrochemical industry by conducting site checks, designing piping layouts, drafting, and maintaining engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site checks and surveys to determine piping routing and support plant modification works effectively
• Design and develop detailed piping layouts for Capex and minor modification projects to meet engineering requirements
• Prepare accurate piping layouts, isometric drawings, support details, and Bills of Materials (BOM) using AutoCAD for project execution
• Create and update Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Plot Plans, and as-built drawings to reflect actual site conditions
• Assist the Engineer/Manager in maintaining the Engineering Document Management System (EDMS) to ensure document accuracy and accessibility
• Maintain and organize the Engineering Library and project documentation to support project continuity and compliance
• Coordinate effectively with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and Construction teams to ensure alignment and smooth project delivery

Required competencies and certifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• Minimum 10 years of piping design experience in the refinery or petrochemical industry
• Proficient in AutoCAD for preparing piping design drawings and documentation
• Competent in pipe routing, P&IDs, piping layouts, isometric drawings, BOM preparation, support details, and material selection
• Good knowledge of ASME, API, and ASTM standards relevant to piping design
• AWSHPP (Workplace Safety & Health in Process Plant) certification, mandatory for safe and compliant work in process plants

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Strong communication and coordination skills to facilitate cross-functional collaboration
• Ability to conduct site surveys independently and make informed design decisions on-site
• Willingness to work in Jurong Island location
