Responsibilities

• Lead and support physical security investigations involving personnel, assets, vendors and incidents, including fact-finding and reporting.
• Assess incidents, identify risks, recommend actions, elevate as needed.
• Support incident response activities requiring timely coordination and discretion.
• Plan and execute physical security red team testing, exercises and control assessments across locations.
• Collaborate with Ethics Office, Legal, HR, Workplace, Facilities, IT, Risk Control and leadership to improve controls and response.
• Develop investigation plans, case records and after-action reports per SOP.
• Identify patterns and gaps, translating findings into practical improvements.

Team IntroThe Global Physical Security team oversees the governance of security initiatives worldwide. We lead the design and implementation of global strategic objectives, standardise tools, processes and procedures, manage project documentation, and act as a key connector between verticals such as Security Operations, Strategy, Fire Safety, and others.ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking a Physical Security Investigations Manager to join our Physical Security team in Singapore. This role is suited to someone who is curious, adaptable, and confident operating in complex environments where facts may be incomplete and sound judgement is essential.

• Lead and support physical security investigations involving personnel, assets, vendors, and security incidents, including fact-finding, evidence gathering, interviews, case documentation, and reporting.
• Assess incidents and security concerns, identify risks, recommend appropriate actions, and elevate matters when required.
• Support incident response activities, including urgent or sensitive matters that require timely coordination, sound judgement, and discretion.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute physical security red team testing, security exercises, and control assessments across global locations.
• Partner with regional and global cross-functional teams, including Ethics Office, Legal, HR, Workplace, Facilities, IT, Risk Control, and business leadership, to evaluate and improve security controls and response capabilities.
• Develop and maintain investigation plans, testing scenarios, case records, after-action reports, corrective action plans, and lesson-learned documentation in accordance with the ByteDance Physical Security Investigation SOP.
• Identify patterns, vulnerabilities, and control gaps, and translate findings into practical improvements for the global physical security program.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Relevant experience in physical security, investigations, corporate security, law enforcement, military, intelligence, risk management, internal audit, or a related field.
• Strong judgement and ability to make balanced decisions in ambiguous, fast-paced and ever-evolving situations.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, assess risk, and determine when escalation or additional guidance is required.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, including the ability to produce clear investigation reports and executive summaries.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to organise information, identify inconsistencies, and draw well-supported conclusions.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion, confidentiality, and integrity at all times.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 25% of the time and work flexibly when required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a technology company, multinational corporation, or complex global environment.
• Prior experience in law enforcement, military, intelligence, government security, or corporate security roles.
• Experience supporting or conducting physical security red team testing, penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, or security exercises.
• Familiarity with investigative interviewing, open-source research, evidence handling, case management systems, and incident reporting.
• Practical understanding of physical security controls, incident response, access control, surveillance systems, guarding operations, and facility security.
• Experience operating across APAC or supporting global security programs.
• Professional certifications such as CPP, PSP, PCI, CFE, ACPIP, ACI, or equivalent are beneficial but not required.
