Job summary

RECRUIT EXPRESS PTE LTD invites applications for a Patient Care Assistant role based in Singapore. You will support Registered Nurses, assist with daily patient care, hygiene, mobility, meals, and safety, while maintaining confidentiality and infection control standards.

The ideal candidate has a minimum GCE N Level or Health Care Assistant certificate and at least 2 years of relevant experience, and is willing to work Mon-Fri 8am-5pm at Marymount / Caldecott locations.

Qualifications

• Min GCE N Level or Certificate in Health Care Assistant or equivalent.
• Min 2 years of working experience as a Patient Care Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Keep active measures to ensure patient safety under supervision.
• Attend to patients' self-care needs including hygiene.
• Assist with mobility, transfers and patient movement.
• Assist as van escort helping patients to and fro from the Hospice.
• Measure and record weight, temperature and blood pressure.
• Look after the patient's dietary and feeding requirements, including taking meal orders and assisting with feeding.
• Maintain food pantry including safe storing of food items, stock level checks and ensuring food quality.
• Upholds infection control standards including hand hygiene, waste disposal and isolation practices.
• Assist with administrative duties such as data entry and filing of documents.
• Assist with filing of documents.
• Report occurrences and patient observations to the Registered Nurse promptly.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and confidentiality in patient care.
• Undertake to keep oneself informed of updated industry guidelines and develop new skills.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Job Scope

• Actively attend to the patients’ self-care needs including elimination, nail and oral hygiene maintenance.
• Assist with mobility needs of patients as well as transfer and mobilise the patient as required.
• Assist as van escort helping patients to and fro from the Hospice.
• Measure and record patient's weight, temperature and blood pressure as required.
• Look after the patient's dietary and feeding requirements, including taking meal order, serving meal and drinks, as well as assist with the feeding of patient if patient unable to do so.
• Be responsible for food pantry including the safe storing of food items, checking on stock level and ensuring the quality of food for safe consumption.
• Upholds standards in infection control by means of standard precautions, hand hygiene, proper waste disposal and isolation practices.
• Assist with administrative duties such as data entry and filing of documents etc.
• Assist with filing of documents.
• Report occurrences and patient observations to the Registered Nurse promptly.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation at all times.
• Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion in matters involving patient care.
• Maintain a conducive and safe patient care environment.
• Undertake to keep oneself well informed of the updated industry guidelines and develop new skills that are necessary for the job.
• Perform any other duties as and when assigned by the Director of Nursing, Registered Nurse, or Day Care Manager.
