Job Purpose

The Technical Director, Electrical is a pivotal role model, elevating Ramboll’s profile in Singapore, attracting new clients, and strengthening existing relationships. As a key member of the Singapore management team, the Technical Director supports the delivery of strategy, the annual business plan, and places the unit in alignment with Ramboll Buildings and wider APAC priorities. The role also involves leading high‑performance culture, technical governance, and delivering the local team’s projects.

Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Lead the electrical engineering team in designing, developing, and implementing electrical systems for high‑rise buildings.
• Direct the planning, execution, and delivery of electrical projects, ensuring adherence to Ramboll’s standards of quality and efficiency.
• Oversee the preparation and review of technical drawings, specifications, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships by understanding their needs and delivering solutions that exceed expectations.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and cost‑effective delivery.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in electrical engineering and high‑rise construction, integrating innovative solutions where applicable.
• Represent Ramboll at industry conferences, seminars, and events to promote our expertise.

Strategic Leadership

• Support the delivery of strategy and the annual business plan for the unit within the Singapore management team.
• Formulate strategies that differentiate Ramboll’s brand and market the unique values it brings to projects in line with APAC Buildings priorities.
• Adopt and contribute to a common project acquisition and technical delivery method for APAC.
• Drive initiatives that integrate design excellence, digitalisation, and sustainability.>
• Apply a commercial mindset to increase project profit, reduce delivery costs, and generate new revenue streams.
• Lead and be responsible for the design and technical output for a portfolio of projects prioritising client satisfaction and quality.
• Lead and participate in preparing client/project proposals, negotiating fee proposals, structuring project teams, and procuring project resources.

Operational Responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations in Singapore alongside the management team.
• Stay informed about industry trends, start‑ups, competitors, and maintain relationships across Buildings in Singapore.
• Support the preparation and execution of the annual business plan for Buildings Singapore.
• Manage the financial performance of the business.
• Grow Ramboll Buildings Singapore business and strengthen the Ramboll brand.
• Undertake other management and leadership tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• Qualified Professional Engineer registered with PEB of Singapore.
• Minimum 15 years of experience; senior management experience with teams of at least 20.
• Strong business development skills with a proven track record of driving profitable growth.
• Extensive experience designing and delivering projects in Singapore.
• International and cultural awareness.
• Excellent communication skills, fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Inspirational leader with solid execution capability.
• Integrity, impartiality, and independence, applying sound personal judgment in all interactions.
• In‑depth knowledge of local and regional markets.
• Experience in go‑to‑market strategy formulation.
• Ability to lead diverse, multi‑cultural, and international teams.
