Job summary

ByteDance seeks an experienced fraud risk professional to join the Global Payment team in Singapore. You will design and oversee fraud programs, investigate suspicious activity, and ensure effective risk controls across payment platforms including TikTok.

You will work with cross-functional teams to translate risk insights into actionable dashboards and reports, staying aligned with evolving card scheme rules and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in fraud management and strategy in payments.
• Prior experience in e-commerce payment risk control.
• Strong knowledge of payments industry and fraud rule writing.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design of fraud programs and projects in line with roadmaps and risk appetite.
• Lead fraud investigations to identify suspicious trends and resolve escalated issues with cross-functional teams.
• Analyze cardholder disputed transactions per card scheme regulations and provide SME in payments risk.
• Monitor performance of decision systems and models; produce visualizations, dashboards and reports with risk analytics support.
• Stay current on card scheme rules and optimize accordingly.
• Support risk team with initiatives and ad hoc projects.
• Collaborate with peers to achieve risk team goals.

Responsibilities

Team IntroductionThe Global Payment team of ByteDance provides payment solutions - including payment acquisitions, disbursements, transaction monitoring, payment method management, foreign exchange conversion, accounting, reconciliations, and so on to ensure that our users have a smooth and secure payment experience on ByteDance platforms including TikTok.

• Contribute to the design of fraud programs and projects in line with defined roadmap and risk appetite, especially for stolen card and accont taken over related domains
• Lead fraud investigations to identify suspicious trends and resolve escalated issues from cross functional teams taking into consideration risk versus customer impact
• Analyse cardholder disputed transactions as per card scheme regulation, and provide subject matter expertise in payments risk
• Implement on-going tracking and monitoring of the performance of decision systems and models and produce clear, understandable visualizations, dashboards and reports with support from the risk analytics team
• Keep current on card scheme rules and regulations, and optimize accordingly
• Support the risk team with various initiatives and ad hoc projects as required
• Work individually and with peers to help achieve the overall goals of the risk team

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline
• Strong programming and data querying languages such as SQL and Python, with a strong ability to manipulate
• Mandatory to have at least 3+ years of experience in fraud management and strategy. Strong knowledge of the payments industry and prior experience in fraud rule writing is mandatory
• Prior experience in e-commerce payment risk control experience is required
• Results oriented, ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong prioritization and ownership, strong communicator with the ability to interact with stakeholders of all levels, including working closely with cross-functional teams
• Aptitude to identify new ways to approach risk management and to think creatively

Preferred Qualifications:

• Fraud risk related algorithms or modeling experience
• End to end risk strategy framework related experience
