Job summary

KIDS INTERVENTION SPECIALISTS (UPPER THOMSON) PTE. LTD. seeks an Occupational Therapist to assess, plan and deliver therapy for children with special needs. You will work directly with children, collaborate with teachers and parents, and monitor progress in a trans-disciplinary setting.

The role requires a MOH-recognised qualification, AHPC registration, and paediatric care experience. You must be able to work on Saturdays and in a team or independently as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy from MOH-recognised institution.
• AHPC practising certificate is required.
• Experience with paediatric care and related needs.

Responsibilities

• Assess and identify occupational performance needs of children with special needs.
• Develop and implement therapy programs for children with special needs.
• Deliver therapy via direct therapy, consultation with teachers/parents, and progress monitoring.
• Collaborate with the intervention team in assessment, goal setting, strategies, and progress tracking.
• Maintain documentation on clients' progress.

Job description

The SKILT Centre - the SpecialKids Intervention, Learning and Therapy Centre established in collaboration with SpecialKids Child Health & Development Clinic, provides a holistic series of programmes that target individuals aged 2 and upwards, through teenage years.

Role & Responsibilities

• Assess and identify occupational performance needs of children with special needs
• Develop and implement appropriate therapy program for children with special needs
• Deliver therapy services either by direct therapy, consultation with teachers and parents, collaboration with teachers and parents, and/or by monitoring of child's progress.
• Work closely with intervention team in areas of assessment, goal development, intervention strategies and progress monitoring in a trans-disciplinary setting.
• Maintain documentation on clients' progress.

Requirement

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an institution recognised by the Ministry of Health under the Allied Health Professions Act
• Valid practising certificate with Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC).
• Experience with paediatric care.
• Ability to manage special needs kids - addressing play, sensory regulation, fine motor, visual perceptual, coordination, attention, and all related issues.
• Ability to work well in a team, as well as independently.
• Restricted in quota for foreigners.
• Able to work on Saturdays.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
