Job summary

Mako in Singapore is seeking a highly motivated Options Trader to join our market-making team, focusing on Indian Index and Stock Options. You will manage a proprietary trading book, monitor risk in real time, and translate data-driven insights into executable ideas.

The role requires 2+ years of experience in Indian options, strong Python or C++, and a solid foundation in pricing, execution, and risk in futures and equity markets.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience trading Indian options.
• Knowledge of pricing, execution, and risk in index futures and cash equities.
• Familiarity with algorithmic trading systems.
• Bachelor's or higher degree in a STEM discipline.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Options Trader to join our market-making team in Singapore, with a focus on Index and Stock Options in the Indian market. You will be responsible for managing a proprietary trading book, generating actionable insights, and using quantitative tools to drive results.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and optimise a proprietary trading book focused on Indian Index and Stock Options.
• Monitor and manage risk exposures in real-time.
• Generate and implement trading ideas using both intuition and data-driven research.
• Analyse historical trading performance to improve strategies and execution.
• Use quantitative tools to build hypotheses, design experiments, and backtest strategies.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• 2+ years of experience trading Indian options (Korean or other markets experience is a plus).
• In-depth knowledge of pricing, execution, and risk in index futures and cash equity markets.
• Familiarity with algorithmic trading systems (high- or mid-frequency strategies).
• Bachelor's or higher degree in a STEM discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science).
• Proficiency in Python and/or C++.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills; ability to interpret large datasets.
• Experience in mathematical/statistical modeling using a range of techniques.
• Self-starter capable of conducting independent research and driving projects.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Passion for solving complex problems and delivering measurable results.
