Job summary

Leica Microsystems in Singapore seeks an Optics Specialist (Lens polishing) to join our on-site manufacturing team. You will perform production, inspection, and machine setup to meet daily targets while ensuring quality and safety standards.

You'll operate polishing equipment, support data recording for process improvement, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment. English communication is essential.

Qualifications

The Optics Specialist (Lens polishing) supports optics manufacturing operations by performing production, inspection, and equipment setup activities. This role contributes to meeting production schedules, maintaining quality and safety standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment.This position reports to the Production Supervisor and is part of the Optics Production team located in Singapore and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Perform production, inspection, machine setup, and troubleshooting activities to meet daily production targets and quality requirements.
• Operate machines and equipment supporting optics production, including handling cobot stations where required, and update process data for monitoring and improvement.
• Support continuous improvement by maintaining good housekeeping standards and contributing ideas to enhance workmanship, efficiency, and operational effectiveness.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Secondary education or technical training in a relevant engineering or manufacturing discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in a production or manufacturing environment, with exposure in operate machines such as polishing machines to produce precision components.
• Ability to work accurately in a structured environment, communicate effectively in English, and demonstrate adaptability and willingness to learn
