Job summary

Apple in Singapore is seeking a Test Engineer to join the optics team, collaborating with external vendors and internal design groups to test and qualify optical components and modules for mass production.

You will design and evaluate test solutions, set up hardware and software test rigs, and generate figures of merit to feed manufacturing processes. Strong communication and hands-on experimental skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master/PhD in Engineering, Physics or Materials or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 years developing test solutions for optical component/module manufacturing.
• Experience with hardware+software optical testing setups and characterization.

Responsibilities

• Participate in cross-functional discussions for alignment, test and characterization of photonics products (e.g., structured light projector, lens, light source).
• Derive evaluation/test plans for characterizing optical components/modules/systems.
• Propose/develop figures of merit to support testing activities.
• Set up and calibrate test solution hardware and software.
• Provide signal/image processing services to the team.
• Perform experiments and analyze data using statistical tools.
• Participate in optical component design and evaluation.
