Job summary

Sembcorp is seeking an Operations Technician (Electrical, Mechanical, I&C) based at Jurong Island, Singapore. The role involves safe shift operation, monitoring plant systems, and coordinating a shift team.

You will rotate between control room and field, troubleshoot issues, and drive productivity improvements while ensuring regulatory compliance and timely reporting. Candidates should have a diploma and at least 3 years’ experience, with strong communication and leadership skills; boiler/steam

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma with relevant technical qualification.
• Minimum 3 years relevant working experience.
• Good communication and leadership skills.
• Positive attitude and self-motivated.
• Boiler Attendant and/or Steam Engineer certification will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe shift operation of the plant in compliance with regulatory and company standards and requirements to meet contractual obligations.
• Monitor status of all plant systems and review daily reports to address abnormalities per standards.
• Plan, deploy and manage the shift team to ensure safe operation and security during shift, including toolbox talks and DCS tracing.
• Plan, train and rotate the Operations Technician between control room and field to sustain core operational competencies.
• Troubleshoot and propose solutions to the Operations Manager to resolve issues.
• Implement optimization projects to improve productivity and plant performance.
• Engage stakeholders to resolve routine contractual or operations issues.
• Ensure proper reporting and documentation of operational issues and performance.
• Submit daily plant consumption figures to relevant internal stakeholders.
