Job summary

Solar Marine in Singapore is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day vessel operations with a strong emphasis on safety and efficiency.

The role requires at least 5 years in dry bulk operations and broad knowledge of commercial, technical, and operational aspects of the industry, including understanding Far East & South East Asia trade patterns. You will coordinate with legal and insurance teams and act as a bridge between management and chartering.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety standards and procedures for day-to-day vessel operations.
• Monitor shipping costs; identify cost-optimization opportunities and improve efficiency.
• Coordinate with legal and Insurance teams to minimize risk.
• Act as liaison between management and chartering teams.
• Keep charterers and owners informed on post-fixture activities.
• Liaise with clients to resolve post-fixture issues.
• Handle post-fixture tasks including freight invoices, demurrage/dispatch, and port disbursement accounts.

Job Description

• Maintain the safety standards and procedures of the day-to-day operations of the vessels we are operating
• Monitor and analyze shipping costs, identify opportunities for cost optimization, and implement effective strategies to enhance operational efficiency
• Coordinating with the legal and insurance team to minimize risk and exposure
• Acting as a liaison between management and chartering
• Keep charterers and owners advised on all post-fixture activities to ensure relevant operational information is passed on timely
• Liaise with clients on resolution processes for post-fixture issues
• Handle post-fixture tasks such as freight invoices, demurrage/dispatch, and port disbursement accounts
